A mother was repeatedly stabbed in her own Beeston home as she pleaded with her knife attacker: "Think of the baby".
Denisha Sterling, 23, ignored victim Abi Oshodi's pleas and told her "I am going to kill you."
Sterling had gone to Miss Oshodi's home on Bramton Row, Beeston, to see her friend Kudirat Morafa who also lived there.
The women started arguing over Ms Oshodi's boyfriend known as G, who was a friend of Sterling, as to who knew him best.
The two women started punching each other while Miss Oshodi's baby daughter was in an upstairs bedroom.
Sterling, of Cemetery Road, Beeston grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Miss Oshodi.
Prosecutor Richard Walters told Leeds Crown Court: "Miss Oshodi tried to grab the knife but Miss Sterling stabbed her again under her left armpit. She then pulled it out and stabbed Miss Oshodi again in the left shoulder.
"She was afraid she was about to die."
Both women had hold of the knife when a friend of Miss Sterling, Pumla Garikagi, got the knife from her. Miss Oshodi suffered four stab wounds, two to the left shoulder, one to the right thigh and one under her left armpit, which entered her chest and caused a collapsed lung.
She spent two days being treated in Leeds General Infirmary.
The Recorder of Leeds Judge Peter Collier jailed Sterling for three years after she pleaded guilty to wounding with intent.
Sterling told police Oshodi had called her a "stinking girl" and said Miss Oshodi had attacked first. The court heard Sterling's victim suffers anxiety, stress, insomnia and a fear of knives. She has now left West Yorkshire.
Sterling had admitted deliberately stabbing Miss Oshodi twice but said two other wounds were caused during a struggle.
Tom Rushbrooke for Sterling said the argument was over a very trivial matter about "who knew the gentleman better than the other".
Mr Rushbrooke said "red mist" had descended on Sterling.
