Chris Edwards, chief executive of Education Leeds, did the honours.

Headteacher, Margaret Beesley, told Beeston Today: In October 2008 we submitted a bid to the Sure Start Out of School Panel to enable us to re-develop our "old and tired" nursery outdoor area. We were lucky to receive £18,500 which has been used to create a wonderful outdoor Magical Garden.

"The children are already benefiting greatly from this garden and we know it will bring many pleasures to many children over the following years."

She added: "We hope that the refurbishment of the outside of the school building and our fabulous nursery garden will continue to raise our profile within the area."
